‘try’ as a domain name prefix

Blogging, Fun, Marketing, Tutorials

I have always had issue with the domain name for my web development business (http://www.dynamicdigitalmedia.net). It’s not horrible, but it is a .net and very long. On average, when giving it out on the phone, I find myself repeating it about 3 times.

I’ve used this domain for years always keeping an eye out for one shorter. Recently I serendipitously typed in ‘trydynamic.com‘ at godaddy; to my surprise it was available. I snatched it up right away, but since then have had some doubts. The word ‘try’ could easily be the center of a marketing campaign, but would trydynamic.com be good as the main advertised domain name for the business?

So, I’m curious to hear some opinions on ‘try’ as a domain name prefix. Any high traffic domains out there using it?

Here are a few common domain name prefixes to ponder as well:

Btw you have a very good theme.(fresh news from woo themes)
I just hope to add a quote like you have done in your header and a picture of mine in my website.

Ok dustin I got the quotes plugin(quotes-collection) looking at your source.
But are not you using fresh news from woo themes ?
May be they have an option for header image. Thanks anyways .

Thank you for your comment on trydynamic.com! I have officially switched to using it as my main advertised domain name.

With the quotes, you are half way there :)

I am using the quotes-collection plugin (which you have), but you will have to change some php code in order to place the quotes where you want them.

If you would like them in the header just edit the header.php file located in the theme directory.

Add in the following where you want a random quote to appear:

    < ?php quotescollection_display_randomquote(); ?>

The real trick will be to make sure that the google PR transfers smoothly to the new site.

Ideal scenario is to get everyone that linked to you to redirect the link.

Alternately for the ones that you can’t find or reach, you can redirect google the new page.

Using a snippet of code that is often used by black hat SEO’s use to spoof PR (although in this case it would be the intended purpose for the code)
